Kids’ portraits always feel so limited. You get a 12×12 room, one or two pre-chosen backgrounds, and a young photographer who’s not a mom and doesn’t know how to work with kids. It’s so posed; it’s not natural light; it’s not your child.

What if it didn’t have to be that way?

What if you could take your kids out to their favorite spot and get pictures of them there? What if you could work with a mom who understands and expects kids to be goofy and naughty? What if you could get pictures of your kids as you see them?

My goal as a photographer is to help you keep those childhood moments forever – because you can’t keep your children forever. As parents, you see the baby in your child. Those moments pass by so quickly. Pictures make you realize your kids are growing, and that’s why you need them.

When I work with families to create portraits of their children, I understand what’s involved. I can catch a hint from a mom who knows her kids will be stinkers if she stays. I can play games to engage the kids in the process. We race each other, we sing together, we explore with one another. I know how to get something out of your kids when they don’t want to do it.

In my many years of photographing children, I’ve come to embrace the unexpected. It’s fun to jump into a photo session thinking, “who knows what fabulous pictures I’m going to get?!” When it’s all said and done, I give you pictures of your child; the child you live with every day.

I specialize in portraits for children under the age of 5. I offer one-on-one sessions, portrait events, and photography classes for moms and dads. My work hours are by appointment, Monday through Thursday, 9:30-3:00. Saturday and Sunset sessions are available for an extra fee.
